Join a SOAS Alumni group
SOAS alumni groups bring graduates together in cities across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East.
Led by committees of alumni volunteers, they organise informal get-togethers and professional networking, and the chance to meet visiting SOAS academics and leaders.
There are also professional networks that connect alumni working in the same sector. Join the LinkedIn group for your local network, or become an Alumni Ambassador and represent SOAS in your community, however small. If there is no group in your city yet, get in touch and help us start one.

Find your local networkOur alumni gatherings are a powerful reminder that our connection goes far beyond our time on campus. These moments not only strengthen our professional networks, but also deepen genuine friendships that continue to support and inspire one another long after graduation.

Scholarships and legacy gifts
For many students, financial hardship can make the difference between starting their studies or not, and between finishing them or dropping out.
Every November, SOAS alumni and friends come together through Giving November, our annual scholarships appeal, which is supported entirely by our community.
You can also support future generations by remembering SOAS in your will. Legacies help fund scholarships, research and projects such as the care of our Library. Fore more information on legacy gifts email philanthropy@soas.ac.uk
Volunteer
Your experience is one of the most valuable things you can share. As a SOAS volunteer, you could:
- mentor a current student or recent graduate
- speak at an alumni event
- make introductions in your sector
- offer an internship at your organisation
- work with your former department
Tell us about your background and interests, and we’ll get in touch when an opportunity matches what you can offer. There’s no commitment until then, and you choose how much time you give.
QS Survey - Have your say!
Sign up to the QS Survey for the QS World University Rankings 2028.
The QS Rankings is an international league table, which is used by prospective students to compare universities and decide where to study. Your impartial responses will contribute to the insight and precision of the survey’s outcomes.
